Bali ‘Joyful Spirit’ Yoga Retreat
Purnati Yoga Retreat centre is a highly spiritual, private and sacred location just south of Ubud Bali. Set in a very peaceful and traditional Balinese location with traditional Lumbungs (rice houses) and generous in ground pool that overlooks beautiful rice fields. The grounds are spacious and serene with a large out door yoga pavilion. Purnati Yoga Retreat has an atmosphere that will soothe your body, mind and soul as soon as you arrive! The retreat is 20mins south of Ubud so you get a real taste of Bali away from the hustle and bustle.
Experience the joy of being gently guided through a range of yoga practices to help you unwind, rejuvenate and renew. All sessions are held in a spectacular outdoor pavilion overlooking lush rice fields are taught with care and attention according to the level of experience of the group. Personal attention and assistance is given to students, particularly those with special needs.
Retreat Food delicious and beautifully prepared vegetarian and protein meals are offered under the supervision of Purnati’s chef Pak Pujo who was an executive chef at the Bali Hyatt. A fusion of Balinese and Western cuisine is offered and all dietary requirements are catered for. An authentic Balinese cooking class with other cultural activities is included to experience the real taste of Bali.

Purnati’s guest rooms are very comfortable, in two-story Balinese Lumbung style. Traditional materials have been used in interiors and exteriors. All rooms are air conditioned and spacious with lovely decor.
Deluxe Single rooms are located on the first floors with baths and private balconies overlooking beautiful Balinese gardens.
Superior Single rooms are located on the top floor of Lumbung which are very private and has indoor bathroom overlooking lush Balinese gardens. These rooms do not have a balcony.
Deluxe and Superior Twin rooms are available. Twin share price is per person.
Budget Rooms are located near the pool which includes bathroom and suitable for single accommodation only.

- Retreat Program
Each day you will be guided through morning meditation followed by a comfortable warm up session to prepare for the Vinyasa Yoga flow class. This is a more fluid style of yoga working with the breath to release toxins increasing strength and flexibility while paying attention to alignment in the poses. Some props are used to help the body open with ease. In the afternoons we focus on restorative yoga and inversions, yoga therapy, partner yoga, pranayama to bring balance and harmony to the mind and body. Daily meditation is integrated into the program to develop a firmer foundation to your practice.
The classes are taught in a practical and safe way according to the group level with health, age and lifestyle fully considered.
There is plenty of free time to have a nurturing massage and spa treatments, visit various temples, shopping and visit the many art galleries of Ubud. Ubud is the cultural centre of Bali, offering lots of interesting activities. The focus will be to re-connect with yourself as well as connecting with Balinese culture. Regular practice of yoga and meditation strengthens the mind and body to create an inner harmony. Daily spiritual intention naturally takes us to a deeper place within ourselves and brings more meaning into our daily lives.

- Teachers & Facilitators
Steve Hall
Senior Qualified Yoga Instructor. Steve has been teaching Yoga in Bali for 9 years, being certified in India as an Ashtanga Vinyasa Instructor and RYT200 Yoga Alliance. Steve has also studied with senior Iyengar teachers, Yin Yoga, Bikram and Hot Yoga and completed several Vipassana and Silent Meditation Intensives. He has a smooth and inclusive teaching style which encourages the individual to a deeper sensitivity of their movements and awareness.
Geri Jones Yoga Instructor. Geri was born in India and moved to Australia when young. She subsequently has returned to India many times and studied classic Vedanta Philosophy. Geri has always included yoga into her personal training programs. She is also a qualified gym instructor. Qualifying in India as a yoga teacher with RYT200 Yoga Alliance, she brings her 20 year personal practice to the mat encouraging students to discover yoga as a complete health and fitness discipline for body and mind.
Sue Hawkins is a
Senior Qualified Yoga Instructor who has been practicing for over 26 years and is registered with Yoga Alliance at the highest level E-RYT500. Sue has studied Iyengar Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra Yoga, Therapy and Partner Yoga. She furthered her studies traveling to India to deepen her knowledge of yoga asanas, pranayama, Ayurveda and yoga philosophy. She is the founder and director of Byron Bay Yoga, now
Yoga Health Retreats and has been running retreats for over 10 years. Sue has instructed on teacher trainings, run workshops and is passionate about running retreats regularly in Byron Bay, Australia and internationally.
