Yesterday as I was having my morning cup of tea I gazed out of the window to see the most beautiful cows and their calves, cuddling up against each other Beautiful sunshine streaming through the trees and a bright blue sky. The birds were happily chirping and the dogs were rolling around on the grass having a great time feeling the sensation of rubbing their backs with their legs in air.
I was lazily lying in bed thinking how lucky I was to have this view from my window and how grateful I was feeling for such a beautiful display that I could easily have taken for granted. I am lucky enough to live where there are many green rolling hills in my area and beautiful pristine beaches with crystal clear water that is superb to swim in. I enjoy many scenic walks on the beaches with my dogs and I love the fact that I can experience real freedom even when things around me may be piling up and causing some pressure.
You can either focus on what you don’t want or focus on what is really your reality beyond what you think is your “reality”! I know when I shift my focus and realise what I do have in my life I am truly grateful and happy and then send out love to those who are less fortunate.
We all know now that thoughts are energy and what we focus on can manifest very quickly. So next time you feel down and stressed out, anxious or worried stop for a few moments and walk outside. Breathe in a couple of nice deep breaths and look around. You may not see what you want in that moment but you can close your eyes and drift into a place that feels better. Think of 5 good things to be grateful for and then open your eyes. You might be surprised at the quality of what you see in that moment. As you shift your focus so does your attitude and surrounds change.
When we are in love everything has beauty in it no matter how ugly it may look. That’s because we feel so alive and unscathed. We need to lift our vibration on a daily basis as a regular practice so we don’t get pulled under by lower energies that sap our creativity. Visualise yourself being happy and grateful when you slip back into thinking negative thoughts about your situation. It might be financial difficulties “how am I going to pay for all these debts” – turn it around and say “I am so happy and grateful now that money comes to me on a continual basis”, or “How am I ever going to find love?” – I am so happy and grateful now that I have an abundance of love and support in my life.
There are many thing you can be grateful for. It’s just a matter of changing your mindset on a daily basis. Like Yoga and Meditation, practice, practice, practice is the key!
I am so happy and grateful for my practice today.
